No economic reports on the calendar today. This week looks to start the way of last week. With no good news to be found traders are contemplating reasons not to sell rather than reasons to buy. Last week we made a few runs at the highs but investors just weren't convinced of the upside. Look for more of the same choppy trade on thinner than average volumes today. We'll see a smattering of economic data throughout the week but not much to hold your breath for at this point. Trade wisely.
Equities ended a choppy week of trade on a down note. The S&P closed down -1.90 to settle at 1834.30. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped -0.2% and the Nasdaq shed -0.1%. Energies spent the day in the red with WTI closing down -.55. Metals enjoyed everyone's misery but there wasn't really anything to see. Gold closed up +6.7 at 1323.6.
