THURSDAY'S ACTION
Yesterday's Initial Claims came in at 305K -their lowest level in six years. Also, Pending Home Sales came in better than expected at -1.6% vs forecast -2.4%. All good news for the S&P's which settled up +6.70, that was still 5.50 off the high of the day as the shutdown showdown seemed to put some weight on the market. Crude held a bid all day on light volume but struggled to move through the $103.00 area. It settled up +.37 at $103.00.

We'll be watching for the PI number to move up today as the employment data has been positive recently. The street expects and uptick in the Michigan number also, but the whole country has been watching the kids in congress so beware. Trade strong
